POETIC WORLDBUILDING TOWARD DIMENSIONAL INTELLIGENCE

How can multisensosry environments expand the frontier of human experience?

DMSN (Dimension) Lab develops environments as apparatuses for expanded consciousness and embodied intelligence. Rooted in poetic worldbuilding, we transform built and natural environments into poetic milieux where site-responsive installation, experimental sound, olfactory activation, performative happenings, and digital systems converge symphonically toward cultivating higher states of spiritual intelligence. Working at the intersection of expanded consciousness, multisensory design, spatial research, and emerging technology, we explore how immersive environments reshape human experience and foster greater planetary care and intelligence

Our work unfolds across three dimensions:

  1. Research the phenomenological conditions that foster expanded states of consciousness;

  2. Develop frameworks for environments conceived as epistemological sites toward greater dimensional intelligence;

  3. Collaborate with artists, technologists, and institutions to translate these inquiries into experiential happenings and larger cultural discourse.

At the core is a conviction that extending the frontier of human experience has become a critical existential inquiry. DMSN Lab approaches this through artistic experimentation and program development, creating site-responsive environments that cultivate greater dimensional intelligence beyond aesthetic experience.

Genealogies of Experiential Technologies

I Psychoactive / Ingestive

Substances that are plant-based, mycelial, or synthetic.

II Meditative / Somatic

Practices of mindfulness, energy work, body work, breathwork, and contemporary embodied techniques geared toward the nervous system.

III Ritualistic / Aesthetic

Collective happenings mobilizing various registers of movement, sound, visuals, scent, etc. to fostered an expanded state of consciousness. From shamanic drumming to techno raves. From indigenous ceremonies to contemporary post-medium happenings.

DMSN Lab is grounded in the third lineage: ritualistic-aesthetic technology.

While drawing conceptual resonance from psychoactive, somatic, and meditative traditions and teachings, the Lab experiments with visual art, sound, moving image, scent, performance, to extend and continue this long-standing lineage of human endeavor.
